Exciting Plans for 2026!

The high resolution cameras are open every day, and volunteers are

on hand to answer any qusetions you may have.

This brings Ellesmere Heronwatch to up to date, with superb live images of our nesting herons!

The new cameras have arrived!

The Heronwatch season opens on Saturday 14th February 2026 in time to see the birds return to Moscow Island to start nesting.  We look forward to welcoming them back!

But it doesn’t mean all the volunteers put their feet up!  It still costs over £2000 a year to keep Heronwatch running and to make sure our fabulous new camera system is serviced ready for the new season.

So, if you want to see more of the wonderful events in the ‘life of a heron’ next year, could you help us?  And remember, every pound donated will go to the project.
