Exciting Plans for 2025!

The high resolution cameras were opened jointly by Graham Hutchinson, Mayor of Ellesmere, and Josie Owen, British Trust for Ornithology.

This brings Ellesmere Heronwatch to up to date, with superb live images of our nesting herons!

The new cameras have arrived!

The Heronwatch season is now closed as the birds are leaving Moscow Island and returning into the surrounding area.  But we look forward to welcoming them back in January.

But it doesn’t mean all the volunteers put their feet up!  It still costs over £2000 a year to keep Heronwatch running and to make sure our fabulous new camera system is serviced ready for the new season.

So, if you want to see more of the wonderful events in the ‘life of a heron’ next year, could you help us?  And remember, every pound donated will go to the project.
